#16 So what’s in a wiki?

Wikis remind me of the WMRLC shared drive!

Of course there are a few differences - immense differences maybe, but the concept is the same -many people can have access and input to the item. Heaps more efficient than emailing between colleagues and having access to it, wherever internet is available, is sooooooo handy!

I can see great potential for wikis in Youth Services - enabling greater sharing and collaboratively planning of ideas, activities and resources Victoria wide, Australia wide and even World wide!

#15 On Library 2.0 & Web 2.0 ...

It certainly is an exciting era for Libraries.

The suggested readings outlined some interesting points in relation to Library 2.0 and Web 2.0. There is, and always has been, the need to respond to what the user wants and to educate the user to access resources, but this is even more so today, as their needs become more diversified and technologically advanced. It is even more important now for Libraries to remain abreast of the times and to be one-step ahead of the user? Learning2.0 has definitely been a prompt and an aid, for me, in better understanding the potential of the internet.

I can still remember the excitement when the internet was first introduced to Libraries and the large amount of information we suddenly had at our fingertips - it was awesome! For some though it was frightening so let's not forget the "technologically-challenged", and remember to cater for these users by continuing to provide face-to-face contact and assistance. This will ensure that everyone benefits from Web 2.0.

#14 Getting not-so-technical with Technorati

I successfully claimed my blog and it is now officially listed on Technorati.
Technorati has not been a 'highlight' for me
but it would prove popular for those with a keen interest in other people's blogs.

#13 Tagging, folksonomies & social bookmarking in Del.icio.us

Definitely an efficient and easy way to create bookmarks that can be accessed from anywhere . A very useful tool for me as I work at a number of different locations.
Also a great way of finding new websites on a particular topic.
I never cease to be amazed at what I will learn next, in this online learning program.

#12 Roll your own search engine with Rollyo

I think I will find this useful. When I'm stuck for ideas I tend to search a series of websites for inspiration so this enables me to browse all at once - definite timesaver for me!

#11 All about LibraryThing

Another account has been created with another usename and password!
LibraryThing has arrived!
I've added a widget to display titles in my catalog
and installed a LT search box on my blog.
I do believe I'm getting there!

#10 Play around with Image Generators

This was the 'bestest' exercise so far!

Could this be a clue to the

whereabouts of the

Staff Christmas Party?
